I bought this jar to use for a candy buffet and it was perfect. It is a good size and a great price.

I bought three of these canisters in the 1 gallon size and another one in a smaller size. I use them on my countertop for two kinds of flour and two kinds of sugar. I searched all over to find a canister that could hold an entire 5 lb. bag of flour, and the 1 gallon size does. These canisters look lovely on my counter. Pros Holds an entire bag of flour or sugar Attractive Mouth is wide enough to easily scoop with a measuring cup Glass, not plastic (I don't like storing food in plastic if I can help it) Inexpensive Cons No gasket; not airtight Highly breakable I would not have thought it was possible to break these very easily, as they seem to be very thick, but I was removing the lid from one of them, knocked it against the mouth of the canister, and sent tiny shards of glass spraying all over my counter and into my sugar. As it was impossible to tell which were grains of sugar and which were pieces of glass, I had to dump the whole thing. I know this was my mistake and not the fault of the product (it IS glass after all, which I am fully aware of) but just be extra careful not to knock the lid against the jar. I really wish they had plastic or rubber gaskets to make them airtight. I use up my flour and sugar quite quickly, but I can see how it might be an issue for someone who takes more than 2-3 weeks to use a full bag of flour. You could always lay a piece of plastic wrap over the opening before fitting the lid into place to keep things fresh.

I bought a set of these with one and two gallon containers. They do look good, and "seemed" like they would be great. However, anything stored in them IS SUBJECT to getting GLASS CHIPS in it with use. DO NOT STORE FOOD IN THESE! I used these for cereals, rice, etc. Any little bump and the rims will chip glass into your food! You may not notice this until too late! This happened unnoticed and I made rice one day (stored in one of these) and my family found glass chips in their rice! It's just not worth it! I've used other ones that actually have a little rubber seal on the rim (These do not) and liked them until I saw another chip... Now I'm using 100% stainless steel containers, with the stainless steel lids (with rubber seals) that have glass tops (like some cookware has) and never have to worry about my family's safety again.

The overall quality is very good. The glass is very heavy and built to last, but the lid fits very poorly. It's hard to move without the lid feeling as if it's going to fall off. But overall, it's a good product......

Anytime you order something made out of glass online, until it is in your posession, you worry about what shape it will be in when it arrives. Glad to report that this cake stand with ribbed dome was in perfect shape upon receipt. Both pieces are of a very heavy and sturdy glass. Will be used for years to come. I am very pleased with the purchase. Highly recommended.

I am a review reader, having said that, I was somewhat torned about ordering this cake plate. I am so glad I decided to try it. It was perfect as a cake plate and a punch bowl. It has a heavyness to it which appeals to me. The price was unbeliveable. I would suggest this item to anyone that is in the market for a cake plate.

I ordered three of this cake stand--one for me and two for gifts--and it is a great value for the money. It is so nice to have a covered cake stand again. This one is heavy and large, and will accommodate a nice sized cake. I had read the reviews and checked the two I gave away, but could not detect any imperfections. The only thing I'd add is that it cost me a lot to reship them. This is a heavy cake stand.

As a cheap cake stand it's O.K. but there are a number of flaws in the glass (especially in the dome) to detract from its looks.

I always wanted to purchase a cake stand and dome just to have one in the kitchen. After looking around at a few places, I found this one and kept it in my cart. Amazon told me that there was a price reduction one day, so I bought it then. I purchased it for $19.99. The dome part is very heavy. It's also made in America, which to me is the best part. I'm ordering one for every woman in the family for Christmas.

Very pretty and well made cake dome set. Love the way it looks. The only thing that I don't like is that the dome it pretty heavy.

I was very excited to receive this - but when it was delivered - it was a cake dome in a box - shattered into pieces because it was not wrapped inside the box at all! And I ordered it new! Would not purchase again - will go to the store to buy any sort of glass product.

Good product, saw it at wal-mart 2 days later for $10.97,beats the $37.00 w/shipping from amazon.com.,be careful when you buy from here with there so called low prices,I'm done with them,joke's on me.

I purchased this portion plate for my husband as he is a diabetic. Nice glass plate but the black portion markings eventually washed off. You can make out where they were on the plate if you look at it real close. We now pretty much use it for just an extra plate. I also purchased the portion snack bowl which is very useful to him and myself when serving him.

Although this is a good idea, the plate is just a glass plate with a decal on the bottom. The top of the plate is not even divided. Albeit a nice glass plate, but expensive.

The pitcher is attractive, but I wish it were tempered glass. Also it is very heavy, and as I get older it gets harder to lift objects. I will keep it as a gift.

This pitcher is very nice. We have found that you have to hold your wrist steady and be confident in your pouring, otherwise it spills. My husband has no trouble with it, but because it is a little heavy for me, I tend to have more spillage when the pitcher is full. After a couple drinks have been poured out, I have no problems at all. Overall, I think it is stylish and well made - I really have no complaints.

This is a great pitcher for iced tea. You can pull the cold pitcher from the refrigerator and pour very warm liquid into it... just like pyrex containers.

I really dislike this pitcher. It looked good when I bought it, but when you actually pour from this picther, you will likely end up making a mess on the counter or the floor. Something to do with the lip design I guess. The only way I can make this work is to pour VERY fast, and sometimes I just don't want to do that. Would not purchase again.

I just received the box today. Opened it and one of the pans was totally shattered. There was no styrofoam to protect the glass and it was in a box too big for the item so it could move around and it only had paper protecting it. The box had been pierced by something during shipping and that is likely the problem. I am totally dissatisfied with the US Postal Service as a shipping option. This is the second time in less than four years that I have received something damaged. I will get my money refunded and shop locally for fragile items such as this from now on, instead of coming here. I am usually pleased with Amazon. I hope they are reading this.

I really love Anchor Hocking products and I buy them frequently. This set is great quality at a great price. Really wish they would list dimensions rather than quarts. The large 5 qt pan is huge and something I highly doubt I would ever use. Might be good for someone who wants to make a giant pan of lasagne or brownies but too big for me.

Greetings, This product is quality, heavy duty glassware for the kitchen. As with all glass products it should be handled with care to get the most use out of it. Wonderful!

If you are just starting antiquing and are active in buying and selling glassware, you really need this knowledge. You see a piece of Fireking you have never seen before and the seller want $5 for it. Will you get a bargain or a piece you will live with forever? This book has pictures, sizes and realistic pricing on Anchor Hocking glassware. You can finally find out what that strange piece of glass you bought was used for. If you shop e-bay you can find out that those four Big Top Goblets listed for sale are really tumblers as I did this week. If you want to sell glassware on E-bay this book will pay for itself. I just wish they would add to the book. I'd pay more. It would be worth it. The book has paid for itself in a month.
